RBL.CLUECENTRAL.NET is back

spammer Since I stopped maintaining the RBL in november 2005, many, many people have urged me to restart it. Apparently the RBL is a useful tool used by postmasters and system administrators to block or whitelist countries and/or netblocks based on origin AS number.

I am not going to give up and will retaliate spammers with every possible measure I can take. Reopening this RBL is one of them.

The current version is completely based on the data provided by:

All IP-to-ASN information is extracted from a full BGP-view. The RBL has 2 ways of listing: one by AS, one by country. Examples:

66.0.136.213.NL.rbl.cluecentral.net
66.0.136.213.AS12859.rbl.cluecentral.net

You can configure your mailserver to use (by example):

kr.rbl.cluecentral.net (blocks mail originating from Korea);
AS31064.rbl.cluecentral.net (blocks mail originating from AS31064;

You can use as many lists as you want. Announced IP-space which did not match an AS number listed in one of the RIR's statistics-file are listed as country UN. All other countries are listed by their official CC-code. All matches return 127.0.0.1 without TXT record. I choose not to add a TXT record since that will leave me with lots of "unsubscribe"-requests, which are naturally not possible.
